GET ACTIVE

Activate (Be)Longing brings audiences, experts and performers together in artistic spaces of imagination and impact as active negotiators in topics that have divided Americans, such as second amendment rights and mental health profiling.

Activate (Be)Longing: thematically-related artistic, scholarly and technology resources in the form of academic panels, digital stories, site-specific events, spoken word slams, and more developed by local groups in consultation with the creative team. Groups are invited to think about belonging and isolationforgiveness and justice, freedom and safety, along with other themes related to education, guns, race, gender and other topics sparked by the initial (Be)Longing performance.

Action for anti-gun violence awareness and progress requires the participation of individuals throughout all communities. Take initiative and join the movement. Below are organizations devoted to progress and the necessary community growth:

NEW HAVEN

International Festival of Arts & Ideas is promoting Activate (Be)Longing by inviting local individuals like you and community organizations to create artistic and participatory responses to the show’s central questions. These responses will be shared at

1. independent events throughout the Spring, or as

2. part of Act II in show’s June performances.
